Donald Trump

A Cult of Personality – When Loud Noise Trumps Common Sense

Ask your typical Trump supporter how he plans on making America the bestest place in the whole wide world, and they’d probably shrug their shoulders and remind you how awesome The Donald is. Then, they’d probably say something about his plans to make America great again, or how hot his wife is, or what a successful businessman he is, or how he will put America first, or how he will make America great again…wait, I used that one already.

If I told you a year ago that someone who never held a political office would earn the Republican nomination without having to share any real policies, you’d probably think I was crazy. But evidently, that’s all in The Donald’s ultimate plan.

According to Motherjones:

A source familiar with Trump’s thinking explained that the billionaire businessman was reluctant to add new layers of policy experts now, feeling it would only muddy his populist message that has been hyperfocused on illegal immigration, trade and fighting Islamic extremists.

“He doesn’t want to waste time on policy and thinks it would make him less effective on the stump,” the Trump source said. “It won’t be until after he is elected but before he’s inaugurated that he will figure out exactly what he is going to do and who he is going to try to hire.”

We have to wait till AFTER the election to discover Trump’s Utopian blueprint. Rest assured, while we wait, in an attempt to quench his supporter’s insatiable thirst, he’ll toss out a few diddies about “the wall” and “the Muslim ban” even a few “anti-Chinese” slingers. Undoubtedly, that’ll keep his base satisfied, just like sprinkling a few flakes in a jar of Sea-Monkeys.

In addition, Trump will be the first presidential candidate who refuses to show his taxes. So he wants to make America great again, he just doesn’t want to do it with any of his money!

If Hillary acted like this, she would’ve been gone long ago.

Still, the glittering dazzling euphoria that his supporters have for him is as strong as one of those spotlights on the set of The Apprentice.

“I love you, Donald Trump. Man, you’re the future of America.”

“I’ve been waiting 17 hours to see you today…and I would love to get a picture with you before I leave.”

“It is so refreshing to have a presidential candidate that is not bought and paid for. I believe in you, that you will make America great again.”

Again, how can someone without any political experience, gain such devout loyalty? What is his secret?

Analysts blame the social implications of a cult of personality.

Wikipedia definition:

A cult of personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda or other methods to create an idealized, heroic, and at times worshipful image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.

Among the more infamous cults of personality of the last century were Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Francisco Franco, Evita Peron, Pol Pot,  and Saddam Hussein.

All of the names from the last paragraph could only achieve their dictatorships in the right climate. In other words, Trump is not like those names as much as their supporters are alike. A cult of personality can only bloom in an icy garden of hatred.

Republicans are angry. None of their politicians are doing anything they want. So finally, they are hoping an outsider gets the job done. His voters are so desperate, they don’t care if The Donald doesn’t show his taxes or if he doesn’t have any policies, or even if him and his entire family were registered Democrats.

When was the last election that a Republican candidate didn’t smear a bucket of grease across their face, before standing at that podium and assuring voters that they would repeal ObamaCare, slash federal spending, and keep an eye on those pesky Democrats? Then, four years later, they shake their heads in shame and apologize for their failures.

Republican politicians have utterly failed their supporters.

Check out a poll from Quinnipiac University released April 5, 2016. Basically, the results point to an angry Republican base, and an even angrier Trump base.

The poll shows that 90% of those supporting The Donald feel that “public officials don’t care much what people like me think.” Hitler and Mussolini gained power in similar climates and by identical fury.
